Attangle 07
Submenu-lineJun 27, 2007

Since February this year I’m working on a careful redesign of the Attangle rules. An improved version seems to be necessary because in the current version a solid defensive strategy played by White can lead to a sure win. Again, Peter Danzeglocke pointed that out.

The new rules will have some implications on the general strategy, and introduce some new aspects. In my view the game will get better (even more).

I’ll introduce the new rules (which are preferable) as soon as possible. The original rules will be kept as a variant.

I was at the Toy Fair last Sunday meeting some friends and checking up new products and their publishers (of course). I had the opportunity to meet Kris Burm at his stand and we played one game of Abande. It was a nice day.

Attangle Rule Change

Further studies have shown that the center position is very powerful in Attangle. White had the first move (which surely is an advantage) and the option to occupy the center. This is changed now. White cannot place at d4 in the very first move of a game.

Thanks go to Peter Danzeglocke for pointing this out.

The online version at Super Duper Games will be changed soon. The “tactic blue” box will be provided with the new rule.
